Better photos

Same improvement to the bio added just 2%. Photos had roughly 10x the impact.

Source: 2025 University of Amsterdam study, analyzing 5,340 real swiping decisions from 445 dating app users.

The review covers everything you upload: photos, bio, prompts. But it weights the photos hardest, because they decide the swipe.

What you get

03

Body language and presentation

Scored 1-10 on posture, expression, eye contact, and confidence cues. What your body is signaling before she reads a word.

04

Most reviews tell you “your photos could be better.” Ours tells you exactly which photo to delete first, and why.

Your Profile Score

54/100

Average. Strong upside.

Photo Quality5/10
Lifestyle & Storytelling7/10
Body Language & Presentation4/10

Strengths

  • Strong location variety: tropical sunset, mountain viewpoint, European old town, beach. Profile reads as someone who actually goes places.
  • Photo 5 (rocks with wallaby) is your best — natural eye contact, soft smile, and the animal is an instant story-starter.
  • Photo 4 (sunset) is the strongest full-body: golden light, environment context, relaxed posture.

Areas to Improve

  • Photo 2 (hat + sunglasses) hides 80% of your face. Never put this in slot 1 — most likely move it to slot 5+ or delete.
  • Photo 6 (gym mirror selfie, looking at phone) stacks three of the worst dating-app signals. Delete it.
  • Photo 1 and 3 are tight selfies with no smile and harsh light. They read tense and closed. Replace at least one with a wider, friendlier shot.
  • No social photo. Every photo is solo, which can read isolated. Add one with friends visible (you don't need to be the focus).
  • Lead photo should not be a sweaty selfie. Promote photo 5 (rocks) or 4 (sunset) to slot 1.

Detailed Feedback

Your overall score is 54/100 — average, with strong upside. The good news: you have the raw material for a great profile. The problem is slot order, expression, and one photo that needs to be deleted today.

The biggest wins, in order:

1. Delete the gym mirror selfie (photo 6). Looking at the phone + mirror selfie + gym backdrop = three dating-app red flags stacked. There is no version of this photo that helps you. Delete and don't replace with another gym shot.

2. Promote the rocks-and-wallaby photo (photo 5) to slot 1. It's your warmest expression, has a natural prop, and tells a story. The current opener — a sweaty mountain selfie — has no smile and harsh top-down light, which is the worst possible first impression.

3. Move the hat-and-sunglasses photo (photo 2) to slot 5 or later, or cut it. It's a fun travel shot, but as an early photo, it hides your face. Women swipe primarily on the face — make her wait until later before you obscure it.

4. Add one photo with friends in frame. Doesn't have to be center stage — even being in the background of a group photo signals "this person has a social life." Right now every photo is solo, which over six photos starts to read as isolated.

5. Smile in at least 3 of the 6. Currently 4 of 6 are unsmiling, and two of those (Gdansk, mountain) lean serious-bordering-on-cold. A genuine half-smile in even two more photos lifts the whole profile.

What to keep: photos 4 (sunset full-body) and 5 (rocks with wallaby) are keepers. Photos 1, 3, and 7 (beach) are usable in mid-deck slots if you fix expression issues — don't lead with them.

If your photos are the bottleneck (and they usually are), the fastest fix is generating better-shot versions in the same locations and outfits. Otherwise, reshoot photo 1, 3, and the gym slot with a friend, in better light, smiling.

Diagnostic

The 3 reasons your profile isn't getting matches

01

Your first photo is wrong

Your first photo decides ~80% of the swipe. If it's blurry, taken from below, in poor light, or shows a group where you're not obvious, you're filtered out before anyone reads your bio.

The free review on this page scores each photo 1–10 and tells you which one belongs in slot 1, which to delete, and why.

02

Your bio reads like a brand

Generic bios are the second-most-common issue. “Love travel, food, and good conversation” reads like a brand mission statement, not a person. Lists of traits don't hook anyone. What works is specificity: one quirky detail beats five generic ones. “Carbonara at 11pm” beats “I love food.”

The review grades your bio against patterns that hook vs. patterns that read like a brand and tells you exactly what to swap.

03

Too few photos, or all from the same shoot day

Variety beats perfection. A profile with 6 photos across different settings, outfits, and moods outperforms a profile with 3 perfectly polished studio shots from one day. People want to see a real person living a life, not a model on a campaign.

This is also why over-polished professional photoshoots often hurt more than they help.

The free review tells you which of these (or which combination) is killing your matches. Most users find it's #1.
